Boasting 20 years’ experience in the Building Safety and Security Industry, Managing director Mr Andreas Burle founded SAFD Systems in 2003. 

After initially training as an electronics bench-technician he qualified with an ND Electrical Engineering L/C. 

In 1991 he found employment in Progress Instrumentation at SAB Ohlssons Brewery where he specialised in the installation and repair of industrial instrumentation. In 1996 he joined ImprovAir / Minerva Systems as senior technician, where he conducted and later oversaw Installation projects and maintenance on Access Control, CCTV, Fire and PA Systems for clients such as Eskom (Koeberg Power Station), PWD, Old Mutual, Foschini, Southern Life, Metropolitan Life and Caltex, amongst others. 

In 1998 he began contracting out similar services to end-user clients such as Old Mutual, PWD, Engen and Liberty Life. This in turn lead to the start-up of SAFD Systems specialising in building safety and security system maintenance in the industrial and corporate markets.
